About VWN

Mission Statement

The Valley Women's Network is dedicated to bringing together women from all walks of life so that they may share and support each other's goals and interests, exchange ideas, and encourage both learning from their peers and set a good example for others.  We provide a platform to members for business networking and informative discussions on promoting a positive self-image, health, safety, well-being and successful business practices.

Our Purpose

The purpose of the Network is to bring together women of all walks of life for professional and personal growth, to initiate contact between business women and reduce isolation, to provide a comfortable environment for sharing common career and social concerns, and to offer self-development opportunities.

Women come to our Network to meet other successful women, to make business contacts and to make friends. The Valley Women's Network is a non-partisan, non-religious, non-affiliated group and does not have any particular single focus interest.  It does not lobby for cause or idea.

History

The Valley Women's Network is modeled loosely after other national network groups and was designed to meet the special needs of women in the Fraser Valley. Since 1992, Associate Networks have been formed.

The Tri-City Chapter was formed in the fall of 1999, with their first meetings held in Port Coquitlam. Our luncheons are held monthly - September through June - on the 3rd Friday of the month. We are currently meeting at the Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam (with occasional posted exceptions). Check the the website for updated details.

Structure

The Tri-City Chapter is run by a Volunteer Core Committee or Board, which is elected annually. Members can become involved by serving on any of several committees, which manage the various tasks of the organization.
